We had unique opportunity this week at Liberty Partners to generate a ground-up design of a wireless transmitter for a customer.

The project began as a request to replace a current product that was being outsourced overseas. The customer desired full access and control to the design files, bill of materials, and Gerber files. Liberty Partners successfully developed a new and improved design to the customers specifications and generated all deliverables; hence giving the customer complete control of their product.

Okmulgee, Oklahoma – Mar. 30, 2021 – Liberty Partners is pleased to announce the release of a new Part 27 TPED AML STC SR09921AC. This AML STC permits helicopters operators to use a wide variety of portable electronic devices including Wi-Fi, Cellular, and ‘mission-specific’ carry-on radios. This AML STC is currently approved for use on the Bell 407 and Airbus AS350 Series with additional models to be added as customer requests are received and the demand for in-flight connectivity continues.

The STC has been authorized for use on Bell 407 and Airbus AS350 Series operated by HeloAir, Air Resources, Firehawk Helicopters, and Helicopter Express.  These helicopters are utilized to support USDA Forest Service playing a role in wildland firefighting, search and rescue, and other critical missions throughout the United States.

This new STC expands Liberty’s extensive TPED certification program established under Part 23 STC SA11158SC and Part 25 AML STC ST11071SC to now include Part 27 rotorcraft under AML STC SR09921AC.  Prior to the release of STC SR09921AC, Liberty reached a milestone certifying 1,000 fixed-wing aircraft for TPED tolerance, solidifying its impact on the inflight connectivity (IFC) market.  An additional AML STC project for Part 29 transport category helicopters has already received FAA acceptance and is pending completion of first article testing.

For more information about this STC or other engineering, certification and manufacturing services please contact Liberty Partners for assistance.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought financial turmoil to companies in every industry, including business aviation.

According to Flight Radar Data, “Since the travel restrictions and shelter-in-place orders started in the second half of March, business aviation activity dropped precipitously, declining ahead of and faster than commercial flights. By the end of the month, flights stabilized at about 20-23% of prior year levels—about 5% lower than commercial aviation and far below the demand for Cargo aviation.”

However, amidst the current trends of reduced workforces, Liberty Partners committed to maintaining a full workforce. The decision yielded great success as Liberty Partners filled the need of many aviation companies struggling to keep up with incoming projects.

During the course of the pandemic, the company was able to expand its customer base offering fully dedicated support in engineering, manufacturing, and certification all while adhering to the CDC guidelines in safety protocol.

With the ever-expanding interior options for business jets, Liberty Partners decided to continue the trend of expanding its innovative technologies by rolling out a new hydrographic line of products that combine customization with durability.

While this technology has finally found its way to the aviation market, hydrographic film dipping has been around for quite some time, mostly used on commercial applications such as automotive interior accents and even firearms.

The film-transfer process allows select surfaces of any aircraft to be bonded with a robust film and finished with a durable matte clear coat. Available in a variety of patterns, the surfaces can be customized to have a wood grain, metal, and carbon fiber look with many additional designer selections. Each customized piece is hand-treated by a team certified in hydrographic applications and finally inspected for customer satisfaction.

One of the more popular requests the company receives is hydrographic instrument panels. Liberty Partners takes a cradle to grave approach that encompasses everything from the manufacturing of the instrument panel to engraving and lastly applying the customized graphic.

According to Liberty Partner’s Director of Operations Doug Bressler, “Hydrographics have given our customers the ability to add the personal touch throughout their aircraft. In business aviation, style and uniqueness are highly valued and owners appreciate going the extra mile for an aircraft that will turn heads.”

During the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Liberty Partners played a vital role in supporting the emergency responders through a joint project with Elliott Aviation and AirMed.

Together, the companies designed and fabricated a stretcher adapter that enables compatibility of both Spectrum and LifePort stretcher systems on a medevac aircraft.

The added compatibility on the Hawker 400 medevac provides operators and medical staff with ease of use and versatility during medical transport.

Looking forward, Liberty Partners plans to continue it’s supporting role with emergency responders throughout the nation.
