OPEN POSITION

Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer

Full-timeOkmulgee, OK$65,000 – $110,000 per year

Overview:

Liberty Partners, Inc. (LPI) is a FAA PMA-certified aerospace engineering and manufacturing company with over 20 years of history specializing in the design, certification, fabrication of aircraft components, machining, sheet metal parts, interior cabinetry & upholstery, systems integration, and T-PED testing in the aerospace sector. We're AS9100D certified and manufacture parts and assemblies for fixed-wing, rotor-craft, and defense platforms. LPI is committed to excellence, innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our products and services.

The Role:

The Aerospace Manufacturing Engineer is a technical role responsible for programming, set up, and machine complex precision components while driving continuous improvement across our machine shop. This hands-on role combines advanced CNC programming, tooling design, process optimization, and emerging additive manufacturing technologies. Additionally, the role solves difficult machining challenges, supports R&D initiatives, and helps expand the shop’s capabilities—including the introduction of certified 3D-printed composite and metal parts for commercial, private, and military aircraft and spacecraft applications. On-the-job training is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and machine complex, high-precision parts using multi-axis CNC equipment (milling, turning, and multi-tasking machines).
  • Design and develop custom tooling, fixtures, and workholding solutions to enable efficient and accurate production of challenging geometries.
  • Continuously develop and implement improved programming strategies, toolpaths, and machining methods to reduce cycle times, improve quality, and increase throughput.
  • Approach every difficult or complex part with a positive, solution-oriented mindset—never accepting “it can’t be done.” Proactively research and apply advanced techniques to successfully machine the most demanding components.
  • Collaborate closely with the R&D department to support prototype development, process trials, and new product introduction.
  • Help grow the machine shop’s overall capabilities by evaluating new technologies, processes, and equipment, and by training team members as needed.
  • Lead or support the introduction of industrial 3D printing (additive manufacturing) for producing certified composite and metal parts suitable for installation on commercial, private, and military aircraft and spacecraft. This includes process development, material qualification support, post-processing, and integration with traditional machining.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of programs, setups, tooling, and process improvements.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance with aerospace and space industry requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven experience in CNC programming (CAM software such as hyperMILL, Mastercam, Fusion 360, NX, or similar) and hands-on machining of complex parts.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-axis machining, tooling design, materials (including aerospace alloys and composites), and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimize processes for efficiency and tackle difficult machining challenges.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing, including FAA-mandated testing.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace or space manufacturing environments.
  • Prior hyperMILL experience.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing technologies for metal and composite parts, including post-processing and certification pathways.
  • Prior experience supporting R&D or new technology introduction in a machine shop setting.
  • Knowledge of quality systems (AS9100, NADCAP, etc.) and documentation practices.

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to occasionally stand, sit, move, climb ladders, and use hands to operate tools and equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. regularly.
  • Manual dexterity and good vision (with or without correction).
  • May operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (will train as necessary).
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, dust, and machinery with moving parts.
  • Use of specialized personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
  • Noise levels range from moderate to high depending on the production area.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, and overtime (including weekends) to accommodate customer schedules and deadlines.
